Mark 5 Gondola Shelving is Australian made and is manufactured to your specifications. Unlike the lesser quality, Asian-made shelving sold by some businesses, Mark 5 Shelving is not limited to one or two basic colours like white, grey or beige that resemble warehouse shelving.

Select from over 125 different Dulux powdercoat colours that include gloss, satin, matt, metallic pearl and ripple textures. Plus, for selected applications, chrome or galvanised finishes.

And all components do not need to be the same colour. Order one colour for the uprights, another colour for the shelves.

About Powdercoat Finishes

Powdercoating is a commercial technique of applying a dry paint to objects, usually metals like steel and aluminium.

In normal wet painting, such as house paints, the paint solids are in suspension in a liquid carrier, which must evaporate before a solid, dry paint coating is produced. With powdercoating, a solvent is not required to keep the binder and filler components in a liquid suspension form. Typically the powdered paint is electrostatically charged and sprayed dry onto the object to be coated. The object is then placed in an oven at 160 to 210 degrees C and the powder particles melt and coalesce to form a continuous hard coating.

The advantages of powdercoat finishes include:

  • Powdercoat finishes are relatively hard, abrasion resistant and tougher than conventional paints.
  • The application process is environmentally friendly when compared with solvent-based paints.
  • The choice of colours and finishes is almost limitless. Subject to minimum order quantities and time constraints it is possible to have the powders manufactured to specific colours.
  • Colour matching from batch to batch is good.
  • Powdercoating finishes can be applied over a wide range of thicknesses, generally in the range of 25 to 80 microns.
