Preparation
The vertical Concealed Stripping can be installed at different horixontal spacings. The most commonly specified spacing is 600mm cnetre to centre. This spacing suits most of the Accessories for Concealed Stripping and minimises wastage when cutting the infill panels as most board manufacturers supply 2400x1200mm boards. Some applications (for example, childrens clothing) specify 900mm centre to centr spacings.
To calculate the number of vertical strips required ,measure the wall length and divide by 600mm (or 900mm) and add one strip for the last bay,
It is generally unwise to install the Concealed Stripping sitting directly on the floor. Most floors are not level or are undulating. Use a long spirit level or laser level to locate the high points in the floor and layout the stripping to accomodate these high points.
NOTE: The Concealed Stripping vertical strips must be fixed to solid fixing points. They must never be fixed directly to plasterboard as this will not provide sufficient structural support. They can be fixed to the wall studs if they are appropriately spaced. Alternatively the wall can be clad with suitable backing boards such as 18mm thick MDF.
